All four definitions are interconnected, however, not synonymous.

Partnership: an agreement among organisations working towards a common or similar goal and attained outcome

Collaboration: is the key value behind any type of partnership.

Relationship: it entails collaboration, however, it is a connection where feelings might affect the outcome and have an impact on the professional or personal context. In collaborations, you consciously decide to prioritise the common goal rather than the feelings (positive or negative)

Membership: it can follow after any type of collaboration or partnership as a more “exclusive” access to information, contacts and/or facilities. Memberships are usually a personal and considered decision, rather than an imposed one. Memberships might be considered as an outcome of partnerships.
