A partnership is an agreement between two parties to achieve a common goal. This is similar to a collaboration, but the latter has a more artistic and informal connotation. A partnership would be the term used to refer to agreements in the humanitarian aid realm and is a more formal agreement than a collaboration. A relationship provides no sort of official agreement working towards a common goal, but is a rather an acknowledgement and awareness between two parties. It is more informal than a partnership. A membership is a clear power difference, being that one party is becoming a member of an already established party, so therefore isn’t partnering, but rather taking knowledge or resources in exchange for another thing, most likely being monetary.

I made this response before reading through everyone elses thoughts and it is interesting to see the different ideas. After reading, I would change some of my thoughts, especially in relation to collaboration and memberships.
