After what I have learned so far from this course, a partnership unites two parties under a common goal or objective. It is based on clear and concise definitions of what exactly the partnership entails and is only as successful as long as the objectives are understood by both parties and sustained throughout the duration of the partnership. One can distinguish between a “partnership,” a “collaboration,” a “relationship,” and a “membership” in that a collaboration occurs when two parties use their unique position to work together, but not necessarily towards a common goal. A relationship does not imply a common goal, but rather just the desire to interact. Last, a membership can best be defined as an allegiance to an organization.
